History & Staff

We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.

Our History

Our History

Our funeral home is the only Brennan family owned and operated business since 2001. We are large enough to give our families the same service as the largest funeral homes around, yet we are small enough that each family gets the level of attention and care they deserve.

Our Mission Statement:

We treat families the way they deserve to be treated,

the way they want to be treated,

and the way we would want to be treated

if we were in their position.

The only Brennans in funeral service in Topeka are at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home. Kevin was a parishioner of Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council No. 534 and the James W. Gibbons Fourth Degree Assembly, the Serra Club, the Topeka St. Patrick's Day Committee and the Topeka Cosmopolitan Club. • Mary H. Brennan

Mary H. Brennan Co-founder and Owner

I grew up in a large and loving family where my parents taught by example. Vincent and Harriett Ridgway Halpin left a rich legacy of caring for others. I took that lesson to heart - my heart. My eighteen years with Mary Kay Cosmetics focused on helping women feel better about themselves. I worked five years at Holy Name Church and Grade School and then two years as the secretary of Assumption Grade School. These years were most rewarding because of the children and their families whom I was privileged to serve. They are very dear to my heart. I am a graduate of Hayden High School and a member of Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church. I was honored to be alongside my husband, Kevin, as we brought his life-long dream into reality by founding Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home. Along with our daughter, Jennifer Brennan Emmert, we offered the families of Topeka and surrounding communities a fresh choice in funeral service. Once again there were real Brennans to assist those in their times of need. We are the only Brennans in funeral service in Topeka. Since Kevin's death on October 6, 2012, I have chosen to honor his legacy and continue to offer families the very best in funeral service. Families we have served call us the "Angels on the Hill." At your time of need let the Kevin Brennan family and staff assist you.

  • Linda Goering

    Linda Goering Secretary/Receptionist

I was born and raised in the Oakland community and married to Les Goering since 1979. We have two grown children, Patricia and Kevin. My career began at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, which extended over 26 years. Since leaving the telephone company, I was immersed in various endeavors; worked for Schmidtlein Electric and volunteered at Sacred Heart Catholic School (now Holy Family School). Family has always been an important part of my life and I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home. It is my honor to do whatever I can to make your first step into the funeral home a bit more relaxed when you come to us in time of need.
