Agnes Walsh

Agnes Barbara Walsh (Bogner), 83, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away after a tough fight against cancer. She passed peacefully on May 18th, 2025, at Midland Care Hospice while praying with her beloved husband. A celebratory gathering and Mass, honoring Agnes’ compassion, energy and Catholic faith, will take place at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3601 SW 17th St. Topeka KS 66604, on Saturday, July 5th, 2025, with a gathering in the church foyer at 10:00 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Following Mass will be an inurnment at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Born on April 12th, 1942, in Marienthal, Kansas, Agnes grew up on the Bogner family farm in Wright, Kansas and graduated high school from St. Mary of the Plains on May 1st, 1960. She received her Licensed Practical Nurse degree from Dodge City Public School of Practical Nursing on August 25th, 1961. Agnes received many awards that acknowledged her compassion and care for the patients at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, where she worked for 27 years. Agnes loved quilting. A lot. She spent many years making quilts, tables runners, and other beautiful crafts for her extended family. She was known for her wonderful caring nature and generosity. Agnes was very active in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives and was known for her unstoppable energy. She had a wonderful smile that lit up a room but was shy about having her picture taken. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Agnes (Droste) Bogner; her sisters, Mary Schaller and Angie Williams; her brothers, Arnold, Andrew, and Richard Bogner. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Walsh; her son, John Walsh (Michelle) and his children, Jacob (wife Katelyn), Michael, Matthew (fiancé Dresden Schatz), and Madeline; her son, Leo Walsh (Stacy) and his children, Aiden and Ryan; her daughter, Janel Chaffee (Cliff) and her children, Tyler (fiancé Kyla Shappell),Carson (girlfriend Kylie Moorehouse); her sister, Pauline Kristek; sister, Phyllis Hauver; and brother, David Bogner.
