Alexis Boo Smalley, entered eternal life August 16, 2011. She is loved by her parents,Jeffery and Kerry Smalley; grandparents, Richard & Lynne and Charles & Cecile; aunts and uncles, Kelly & John, Aaron & Gail and Chris & Lyndsey; and 5 cousins. To our little firefly, When your mommy & daddy started our path of life together, it was well lit by the glow of our love. Then something amazing happened! Our road became more clear, our sight further and our steps more sure. Your little light began to fly along with us igniting a joyful radiance from within that burned away our shadows and fears. You gave hope and substance to our dreams. We were gifted with many wonderful visions. We saw you laugh at our funny faces. We comforted you when you cried. We taught you how to get rid of spiders for mommy and catch flies alive like daddy. We laughed to hear you call us to Saturday mornings with your cry of "TOONS, DADDY!". Your mommy saw us going to Karate classes together after you kicked my cheek on her belly and I screamed like a girl. We saw your love for music when you stayed still while we sang your own special version of Old Mac Donald, even when I was off key. We heard you saying your bedtime prayers at night. We saw the questioning look on your face when the only stuffed animal you wanted was your mommy's and not the many of your own. We watched you grow more beautiful like mommy though you had my duck feet. We saw how you knew to get your daddy to do what you wanted whether by your pleadingly look or showing your math solution that proved riding a bike off a ramp down a steep mountain path was theoretically possible. We lived a lifetime in those few months as we grew and dreamed with you. The brightness dims in your passing. We understand that the world has many storms and shadows, but God has only so many fireflies. May your wings be lifted by our love for you. Please realize that our journey together is brighter knowing that our little firefly is on her mission bringing hope. Thank you Lord for allowing her to spend a few moments with us as a family.
