In Loving Memory of Anthony “Tony” Guerrero Deuteronomy 31:8 “The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” With profound sadness, yet grateful hearts, we celebrate the life of Anthony “Tony” Guerrero, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, cherished brother, uncle, and friend. Tony was born on August 5, 1959, in Topeka, Kansas and grew up in the Highland Park neighborhood. He graduated from Highland Park High school with the Class 1978. Tony peacefully entered eternal rest on June 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family, just 56 days after being diagnosed with liver cancer. Although his diagnosis came unexpectedly, Tony’s final weeks became a beautiful reminder of what truly matters. His family gathered around him, sharing stories, laughter, tears, music, prayers, and unconditional love. They laughed together, cried together, prayed together, and simply showed up for him. In the midst of heartbreak, Tony gave his family one final priceless gift—the opportunity to be together. Those precious moments will forever be one of the greatest legacies he left behind. His Life If you knew Tony, you knew his laugh. It was loud, contagious, and completely unforgettable. He’d tell a joke and be the first one laughing. Before you knew it, you were laughing too—not always because the joke was funny, but because his joy was. Tony had a personality that was impossible to forget. He wasn’t always the best at remembering people’s names, so instead, he gave everyone nicknames. Somehow, those nicknames stayed with him forever. He also had a unique sense of humor. When his son started playing golf, Tony suddenly declared himself a “professional golfer,” even though his family had never actually seen him play. That was Tony—always ready to make people smile. He was also an avid wrestling fan and enjoyed cheering on his favorite wrestlers with the same excitement he brought to everything else. Tony appreciated nice clothes, but somehow his favorite shirts were always the ones with holes in them. He wore them proudly without a second thought. That was Tony—comfortable being exactly who he was. He found happiness in life's simple pleasures: sharing coffee with family, singing, dancing, calling loved ones, listening to music, spending time with the people he loved, and making memories with his family. Those ordinary moments became extraordinary simply because Tony was there. He also shared a special bond with his beloved dogs, faithful companions who brought him comfort, loyalty, and unconditional love throughout the years. His Greatest Treasure Above all else, Tony loved his family. He was a husband, a father, a proud grandfather, a caring brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Nothing brought him greater happiness than being surrounded by the people he loved most. Survivors Anthony is lovingly survived by his beloved wife, Laura Guerrero; three Sons, Anthony “JR” Guerrero, Steven (Angela) Guerrero and Michael Guerrero; cherished grandchildren, Anthony Guerrero, Faithlynn Guerrero, Scarlett Guerrero, Aleece Guerrero; great-granddaughter, Nova Guerrero; his sisters, Gloria (Francisco) Febles and Tammy Guerrero; his brothers, Jerry Guerrero and Tommy (Connie) Guerrero; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Teresa Juarez Guerrero and Salvador Guerrero, and by his sister, Sondra Guerrero. A Legacy of Love Tony reminded us that life is not measured by the number of years we live, but by the love we leave behind. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing his suffering has ended and that he is now at peace. His laughter will echo in our memories. His nicknames will forever make us smile. His love will continue to live on through his family. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Funeral service Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, July 7,2026 from 9 to 10 a.m. for visitation at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. and burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
