Curtis Stauffer

Curtis Wayne Stauffer, 67, of Topeka, Kansas departed this world on July 15, 2024. He passed away at his home and was surrounded by his wife and children. Curt was a loving husband, a devoted father, papa, son, brother, and friend. Curt did not know a stranger and was known to strike up conversations with anyone, even offering them help if they needed it. Curt was born on May 6, 1957, in Topeka, the son of John and Delores Stauffer. He was the second of six children. Curt was a graduate of Highland Park High School. He began working for Ben Schreiner Construction in 1985, and later became co-owner of the company. Curt met his wife, Cheryl Schreiner, and they married on July 12, 1986. They recently celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary and had a loving marriage, filled with life’s challenges and joys. Together, they were blessed with four children, Colby, Brady, Cassidy, and Sam. Their three grandchildren, Hudson, Harper, and Nash were Curt’s pride and joy. Curt especially enjoyed watching Hudson’s baseball team, the Topeka Aces, and never missed a game if he could help it. Curt also enjoyed boating, gardening, and was very passionate about his concrete construction business. With great pride, he enjoyed showing his wife, children, or anyone who would listen, his many concrete jobs he had done! Curt was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life and loved his family above all else. Curt is survived by his wife, Cheryl Schreiner; children, Sam Stauffer, Cassidy Stauffer, and Colby Colley (Doug); three grandchildren; mother, Delores Stauffer; brothers, Kelly (Kim) and Doug (Lori) Stauffer; sisters, Kim Adams (Eric), Jenny (Chris) Moritz; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his precious son, Brady Curtis Stauffer in 1993, his father, John W. Stauffer, and his brother Scott Stauffer. PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE IN LOCATION BELOW. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2024, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 615 E Wyandotte Street, Meriden KS 66512. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, at the Church. Burial to follow in Rochester Cemetery.
