Donna Villalobos

Donna Lisa Villalobos, 53, passed away Friday, September 25, 2020, in Topeka, Kansas. Donna was born July 19, 1967, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Don and Grace Villalobos. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1985 and attended Washburn University. Donna worked for several local employers before she began her career with the railroad; first she was employed by BNSF Railroad in Topeka and then with CSX Railroad in Jacksonville, Florida. After 20 years with the railroad Donna was forced to leave her job due to health issues. She made so many great friends through her work and while living in Florida. She was so sweet, kind and generous to everyone she met; always so positive even during the toughest of times. Donna loved gathering with friends, family reunions, dining out, collecting and sharing recipes, playing board games and shopping online. Donna never had children of her own but really loved kids, often showering the neighborhood children with gifts and treats on birthdays and holidays. Donna loved sharing Facebook posts of babies and children. She had her favorite posts that she viewed often because they made her laugh. And anyone who knew Donna knew what a beautiful laugh she had. She truly adored her many nieces and nephews and loved sharing their pictures. Donna enjoyed traveling, especially to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She would say even though she couldn't walk around, due to health issues, she was perfectly happy sitting in a beautiful ocean-front condo just enjoying the view. And Donna was a hero. Due to her generosity as a donor, two people have gained their sight! Donna is survived by her mother, Grace Villalobos; brothers, Adam Villalobos (Rose), Al Villalobos (Maria); sisters, Anita Villalobos and Vera Rissen (Earl). Donna also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her father, Don Villalobos. A Celebration of Donna’s Life, will be Friday, April 9, 11 a.m. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614, with visitation one hour prior to service. Masks and social distancing are required. Donna’s service will be live streamed on the funeral home Facebook page. Donna had such a fondness for animals and would often share Facebook posts and videos of birds, cats and dogs.
