Gregory Huseth

Gregory Clair Huseth, 60, of Topeka, passed away Monday, December 1, 2014, surrounded by his family, following a 23-year-battle with cancer. Greg was born on November 3, 1954, in Frankfurt, Germany, the son of Herbert and Mary (Manny) Huseth. Greg and his family moved to Topeka in 1968; and he graduated from Hayden High School in 1972. Greg also graduated from Kansas State University in 1977 with a BSBA in accounting. On September 23, 1989, Greg married Cornelia R. Daluz, M.D., at Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka. Greg was a CPA, licensed to practice in Kansas and Missouri, since 1983 and in sole proprietorship since 1993. Greg was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants, a Registered Representative for Cambridge Investment Research and was an author and lecturer. Greg was an avid K-State fan and enjoyed watching sports. He also enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with his family. Greg was a warrior in battling his cancer. He always kept a positive attitude and refused to complain. He was dearly loved and will be sorely missed. Survivors include, his wife, Cornelia (Nila), of the home; daughter, Rosemary (MeiMei); mother, Mary Huseth, Topeka; siblings, Diette (Morgan) Bailey, Topeka, Gustav (Terri) Huseth, Shawnee, Timothy Huseth, Chicago IL, Susan (John) Cooley, Lenexa, Joseph Huseth, Overland Park, Mark Huseth, Alexandria VA, Mary Ann (Jeffrey) Penrose, Kansas City MO; brothers-in-law, Elmer (Bles) Daluz, Fairfax VA and Manny Daluz, Vancouver WA; numerous nieces, nephews and grandnieces. Greg was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Huseth, on December 18, 2011. A parish rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Thursday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd, Topeka KS 66614, where family will greet friends until 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Greg’s name to Midland Care Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka KS 66606 or St. Francis Comprehensive Cancer Center, 1700 SW 7th St, Topeka KS 66606, or Cotton O’Neil Cancer Center, 1414 SW 8th St, Topeka KS 66606.
