Marc Sabatini

Frank Marcus “Marc” Sabatini, 65, Topeka, Kansas, passed away surrounded by family Wednesday, March 3, 2021. Marc was born September 23, 1955, in Lawrence, Kansas, to Frank and Alice Chandler Sabatini. He attended Holy Name and St. Matthew Grade Schools and Shawnee Heights High School before attending Savior of the World Seminary in Kansas City, Kansas. Mark attended Pittsburg State University. He loved learning and especially enjoyed Art and Psychology classes. Marc worked with his father building Pizza Huts across the south. He became a draftsman and was employed by Zach’s Manufacturing working on, among many other projects, Air Force One, Command bases and the Pentagon. Upon his retirement, Marc enjoyed restoring micro cars and owned Roman Holiday Scooters concentrating on vintage Vespas and Lambrettas. He was a luthier, building and repairing guitars in addition to playing them. All his life, Marc loved spending time with family at the cabin in Colorado. Grateful to have shared Marc’s life are his wife, Colleen Broxterman Sabatini; daughters, Mary Catharine Sabatini and her spouse, Jonah Heng of Lawrence, Kansas and AnneMarie JiangYu Sabatini, Austin, Texas, whose mother is Kelly Smith Neill; son, Joseph Barkhurst and Elizabeth Manderscheid of Ozawkie, Kansas; grandson, Carson; father, Frank Sabatini and his wife, Judith of Topeka; brothers, Matt Sabatini and his wife, Denise of Topeka, Michael Sabatini and his wife, Cynthia of Leawood, Kansas and Dan Sabatini and his wife, Nicole of Lawrence, Kansas; and many nieces nephews, and cousins, dear to his heart. Marc was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Chandler Sabatini. Visitation will be Saturday, March 6, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 312 NE Freeman Ave. The rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Resurrection at 11 a.m., all at the church. Inurnment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required. Marc’s Mass with be live streamed on Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home Facebook page.
