Terry White

Terry Wayne White, 77, Topeka, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home, Saturday, September 14, 2024. From Jeffrey, West Virginia, Terry was the oldest of six children born to Warren Henry White and Susie Louise Ball White. Terry was a proud U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran who loved the Lord, his family, and his country. Although he lived his entire adult life in Topeka after returning from Vietnam, he had strong ties to his West Virginia roots. He enjoyed road trips and the outdoors, and loved to "hunt, fish and play ball." On July 3, 1971, Terry married the love of his life, Joan Sharp, enjoying over 53 years together. He cherished his family and the lifelong friendships he made through his career as a barber, playing softball, and coaching his son in various sports. Terry is survived by his loving wife, Joan White; his daughter, Tara White; his son, Josh White and his wife, Selena; and his granddaughter, Sophia Rose White, whom he adored. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Patricia White; his sister, Karen Hedrick; his brother-in-law, Rocky Hedrick; his sister, Patricia Price; his brother-in-law, Mike Price; his brother, Patrick White; his sister-in-law, Carolyn Mauer; his brother-in-law, Robert Mauer; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Terry is preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Brewer; his brother-in-law, Tommy Brewer; his sister-in-law, Diana White; and his brother, Harry White. A "Celebration of Life" visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. featuring a tribute to Terry at 6:30 p.m. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614. Burial with military honors will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 27, at Prairie Home Cemetery. All are welcome to join the family in honoring his legacy.
