Agnes Marie Lively

Agnes Marie Lively, known as Marie or Sis to her family and friends, 73, of Topeka, Kansas passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Marie was born September 4, 1947, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, the daughter of William and Mina Rudasil Brandt. On May 20, 1973, Marie and Mack S. Lively were united in marriage. He preceded her in death April 7, 2006. Marie was a dedicated, loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother with an unbending faith in the Lord. Marie and Mack were great supporters of Washburn Rural High School, acting as sponsors for band trips and FFA. They helped with the Auburn Grange Fair, organized the Lion’s Club Parade for many years and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Marie’s years working at the bowling alley were dedicated to feeding her friends good food and telling stories of her life adventures. She was an avid reader, had a special understanding of children, particularly teens, and had dreams of becoming a counselor. Her grandchildren adored her and enjoyed every moment they had with her, whether it was at the bowling alley, watching Harry Potter movies, playing bingo or helping her make her famous tacos. And she treasured those times with them. She will be missed but fondly remembered for the love she shared with her family, friends and community. Marie was small in stature but reminded her children that dynamite comes in small packages. She lived life the way she wanted to, loving dearly and being dearly loved in return. Survivors include her children, Candi Mouton (Michael), Tracy Nelson (Scott) and Vance Lively (Brenda); 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Charles Brandt (Suzy), Sam Brandt (Fran), Mina Brandt and Daniel Brandt (Joy); and her first husband, Mose Pierce (Linda). Marie was also preceded in death by her daughter, Holly Lively, and siblings, Milton, Gordon, Albert and Josie Brandt. Graveside service for Marie will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Auburn Cemetery, Auburn KS. Masks and social distancing are required. The service will be streamed on Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home Facebook page.
