Belinda Susanne Meier, 32, Topeka KS, died at 7:30 P.M. Friday, March 20, 2015, from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident 6 miles south of Topeka.
Belinda was born September 14, 1982, in Topeka, KS and was a lifelong area resident. She worked as a Life Enhancement Coordinator at Aldersgate Village Retirement Community as well as a Bartender at the Wild Horse Saloon.
Belinda was a very loving and caring person who always had a smile on her face that could light up not just the room, but the world. Whether it was her friends, family, coworkers, or Alzheimer patients she always had time to listen to anyone and no problem was too big for her to tackle for someone in need. Belinda recently took up ballet again at Kansas Ballet Academy and had become a Fitbit enthusiast.
Belinda had a love for life and a passion for her work that was surpassed by her love and passion for her friends and family. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Every single person she befriended or who called her a member of the family was made a better person from knowing her. She was a light that will continue to be a source of inspiration, love, and compassion that will never dim and was truly loved by her friends and family, and she truly loved them in return.
She is survived by her mother and step-father, Maggie and Bob Walshire; her father and step-mother, Augie G. Meier Jr. and Joyce Rakestraw; brother, Augie G. Meier III; sister, Bridget Meier; sister-in-law, Nicole Meier; three step-brothers, Jared Rakestraw, Jeremy Rakestraw and Ben Walshire; two step-sisters, Jessica Rakestraw and Anne Cleverton; one nephew, Augie G. Meier IV; one niece and goddaughter, Elizabeth Meier; step-nephews, Jonathon, Justin, Caleb; step-nieces, Kayla, Courtney, Kylie, and Kate; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by grandparents, Florian and Mary Fuhr, Augie and Lucille Meier, and Bill and Edna Stapleton.
Family will receive friends at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 25th, where a parish rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 26th, at Christ the King Catholic Church. Father Mitchel Zimmerman and Father Tim Haberkorn will concelebrate. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Rakestraw, Jared Rakestraw, Ben Walshire, Matt Briden, K.C. McDonald, and Jason Owens.

I worked with Belinda when we were in high school at BR. Although we lost touch, I've never forgot the spunky redhead who loved decorating ice cream clowns! May the many memories bring joy to the hearts of her family & friends. I am incredibly sorry for your loss.

I was so sad & shocked when I realized the accident I'd heard about had taken Belinda. I closed my eyes and imagined all of the residents greeting and guiding her up to heaven -- residents that she'd helped care for... Belinda helped care for both of my parents on the Alzheimer's unit -- keeping their minds thinking, joking and smiling before their time came... I know my Mom & Dad were there with all the others... welcoming and showing Belinda the way... And I'll bet Belinda had that amazing smile that we all knew, as she hugged all of her friends that had made the journey before her. I always gigled every time i saw belinda out and about as we would say hi to each other (Hi Belinda!!! oh Hi Belinda!!!) is how it went every time....it would confuse people i was with at first witch made us smile....she will truely missed and already is....a great person and a friend to all witch is really hard to come by......hugs and thoughts send to all thr family and friends she had in her life
