Clifford Harrison Wright, 66, Topeka, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Cliff was born June 1, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Southgate with three siblings. Becky Henderson and Christopher Wright preceded him in death and Patty Fowler survives; as well as three nephews, David, JT and Jacob and their families. In his early 20s, Cliff joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the missionary program where he served in the mission field for one and one-half years. He loved teaching the people of South Africa and also learning their culture. The last six months of the mission were spent in upstate New York. Coming to Topeka in the 1970s, Cliff was employed by the Seven Up Bottling Company and the Sutton family for over two decades. Cliff and Steve Gleason were partners in life for 34 years, and also in business, co-owning University Flowers at 17th and Washburn Avenue, since 1991. Their great love for animals has been evident all their lives. Lucy, Chase and Daisy Mae were at Cliff’s side until he went to the hospital. They too were his faithful and loving companions who will miss their Daddy. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Contributions in Cliff’s memory may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society and sent in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614.
