Eileen Bohannon

March 7, 1938 - April 12, 2022

Eileen Helen Bohannon, 84, Topeka, Kansas passed away on April 12, 2022, at Stormont Vail Hospital. She was born in Topeka on March 7, 1938, the daughter of Casper P. and Mary Ann Kaberlein Eakes Sr. Eileen graduated from Sacred Heart Grade School, and Hayden High School. She worked at Santa Fe for over 40 years as an accounting clerk. Eileen was dedicated to her boys and grandkids and enjoyed every moment she spent with them. She enjoyed gardening, her pool, and playing golf with her friends. Eileen married Robert E. Bohannon on February 7, 1959. He preceded her in death on December 15, 2016. She was also predeceased by ten siblings, Robert Eakes, Frances “Booty” Eakes, Dolores “Sis” O’Flaherty, JoAnne Hibbert, Paul “Semo” Eakes, Mary Lou “Hesse” Duman, Casper Eakes Jr., Barbara Kirmse, and Ann “Anj” Lambert, and John Eakes. Eileen is survived by her children, Jon (Christine) Bohannon, Topeka, Todd (Barbara) Bohannon, Tucson; grandchildren, Brooke (Hector) Salazar, Tucson, Casey, Riley, and Brady Bohannon, Topeka; great-granddaughter, Eloisa Salazar, Tucson; her siblings, Theresa Zotto, Topeka, and Louis Eakes, Tecumseh. Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 312 NE Freeman Avenue, Topeka KS 66610, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
