Frances Arlene Classen Moore

March 12, 1938 - March 1, 2022

Frances Classen Moore passed from her earthly home in Topeka, Kansas to her heavenly home on March 1, 2022. She was born in 1938, in Meade, Kansas to Frank and Helen Classen. Frances is survived by her beloved husband, James Moore; her children, Kimberly Suzanne of McKinney, Texas and Brian James of Topeka; and siblings, Ralph Classen of Meade, Barbara Buschert of Springfield, Missouri, Lorene Jones-Henderson of Roland, Arkansas, and Marcella Stoll of Liberal, Kansas. Frances earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Kansas and was a Registered Nurse in Kansas before marrying Jim. After traveling with Jim for several years, health problems moved her focus from the nursing field that she loved to raising her children and serving her community. Fran was a creative and inquisitive person and enjoyed sharing her discoveries and creations with those around her. Many people were touched by her love of cooking, gardening, quilting, homemade greeting cards and her generosity in sharing with others. She was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Topeka and volunteered her time counselling young women as a Hi-Crest Mentor. Her “bucket list” was to visit all the US state capitals or at least spend some time in each state. After Jim retired, they added to the list and were able to complete the list of 50 states visited as well as a mission trip to Ecuador, a trip to Europe and cruises to Panama Canal and the Caribbean. Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022, at Cornerstone Community Church, 7620 SW 21st Street, Topeka KS 66615, where visitation will be one-hour prior. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. After the service, the church will have a recording of the service available upon request for those unable to attend on Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission or to Cornerstone Community Church of Topeka, and sent in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614.
