Leslie Edward Beguelin, 93, Topeka, Kansas, gained his Heavenly home Saturday. January 16, 2021. Leslie was born in Lawrence, Kansas January 27, 1927, to Harry and Bertha Lombard Beguelin. He graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1944 and from the University of Kansas, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. On June 26, 1949, he and Alice Jean Degner were married, enjoying 72 years together. She survives. He is also survived by daughters Kathryn Blosser, Topeka and Deborah Erhart (Jon), Rogers, Arkansas; son, Scott Beguelin (Renee), Berryton; ten grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Leslie retired from the Federal service in 1982 having worked for the United States Postal Service, the Department of Air Force, the United States Department of Army and the United States Department of Agriculture. He and his wife traveled extensively in the contiguous states, went on a 50th anniversary inside passage cruise to Alaska and traveled in Canada and Mexico. He liked Bible study and attended Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Beguelin’s body will lie in state Thursday, January 21, from 2 until 4 p.m. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614. Graveside service with military honors will be Friday, January 22, 1 p.m., at Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery, 1517 E 15th Street, Lawrence KS 66044. Due to the pandemic, the service will be live streamed on the funeral home Facebook page. Memorial donations may be made to Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene or Parkinson’s Foundation of the Heartland and sent in care of the funeral home.
