Mary Ann Sachs, 72, Topeka, Kansas, passed away Monday, April 4, 2022. Mary Ann was born February 3, 1950, in Topeka to Robert and Margot Geissler Sachs. She was a 1968 graduate of Topeka High School. Mary Ann and Donald Tripp were married and later divorced. Mary Ann worked for a time as a keypunch operator for Howard Hughes’ tool company in California. Returning to Kansas, she worked for National Reserve Life Insurance Company until they closed. She was employed by KP&L and subsequently for the State of Kansas, first in the personnel department and then for KPERS, from which she retired in March of 2021. Mary Ann loved schnauzers, counting four of them as her companions during her lifetime and she loved cheering on the KU Jayhawks with her devoted friend, Larry Tenopir. Grateful to have shared her life are her brother, Robert Sachs (Susie); niece, Sarah Jepson (Travis); nephew, Robert F. Sachs (Rachel); grandnieces and grandnephews, Avery, Greer, and Brigham Jepson and Delaney and Everett Sachs. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Thomas Dale Sachs and grandnephew, Barrett Robert Sachs. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 12, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614, where the rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Committal service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery.
