Mary Evangeline “Eve” Huseth, 91, Topeka, Kansas, died at Midland Hospice House surrounded by her children on May 10, 2022. Mary was born in a farmhouse near the French-Canadian village of Damar, Kansas, on December 29, 1930, to her parents, Otis and Agatha Davignon Manny. She married Herbert Eugene Huseth on August 4, 1951. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, and son, Gregory. She is survived by seven children, Diette Bailey and husband Morgan of Topeka, Gustav and his wife Terri of Shawnee, Timothy and husband Greg Cullum of Chicago, Illinois, Susan Cooley and husband John of Lenexa, Joseph of Overland Park, Mark and husband Fabio Zuluaga of Alexandria, Virginia, and Mary Ann Penrose and husband Jeffrey of Kansas City; daughter-in-law, Nila of Topeka; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She also had one brother, Lawrence Manny, who preceded her in death. Mary and Herb were especially proud of their children, who were all college graduates. Mary graduated from Damar High School and attended Marymount College. As an Army wife, Mary lived on the European Continent twice, and several other duty stations in the United States. Mary was an incredible mother to eight children and served as room mother for many years as well as coordinating funeral dinners for their home parish, Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She also enjoyed hosting and attending dinners as a member of a local supper club. Mary was also proud of her service as a lay Communion Minister and provided Communion for home bound parishioners. Mary enjoyed many activities in retirement especially traveling with her husband. She would often recall the beautiful sites of their travels on two European tours, a cruise to Alaska, and trips to the west coast and national parks. Mary could often be spotted at the HyVee Café paying a mean game of bridge with various friends.
