May Q. Yee, 88, Topeka, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at the University of Kansas health Systems, St. Francis Campus. May was born December 13, 1931, in Canton (Guangzhou), China. She married Wayne Yee in Lubbock, Texas, on July 22, 1955; he preceded her in death in 2014. May obtained US Citizenship in 1950. She was employed at the China Inn Restaurant, as well as part owner from 1955 to 2007. May lived in Canton, China, Grand Junction, Colorado, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Topeka. She enjoyed interating with people, cooking, baking, sewing, traveling, family, being a housewife, and being a hostess at home and at the restaurant. May’s biggest achievement was raising a son and daughter and having a family. May is survived by her children, Patricia Yee and Dean Yee, both of Topeka; grandchildren, Kristen Fantz, Portland, Dr. Kandace Yee and Skyler Yee, both of Kansas City; great-grandchild, Palmer Fantz; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Ted Quan and Ray Quan. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2020, at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614. Entombment in Memorial Park Cemetery will follow.
