Diana Jo Martin

Diana Jo Martin September 18, 1957 - January 25, 2026 Diana Martin, 68, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away January 25, 2026, after fighting the brutal disease, Multiple System Atrophy. Diana was born in Salina, Kansas in 1957. She was a 1975 graduate of Topeka West High School. Then, being a hard worker and loving to be around people, she went to work at Red Lobster as the hostess. Next, Diana met the love of her life, Michael Martin, while working at Fairlawn Plaza Bank. They married on May 3, 1985. She also worked for Hanes as the L'eggs lady, and most recently as Administrative Secretary at FedEx until she couldn’t work anymore. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend to anyone she met. She was joyful and found the fun in everyday moments. Diana was always friendly and wanted to chat with you whether you were family, a neighbor, a coworker, a customer, or just crossing paths. Diana enjoyed reading the comics, listening to local radio stations, swimming, traveling, climbing to the top of the state capitol dome and other monuments, attending concerts and car shows with her husband. When she was losing the ability to move, she enjoyed watching the Andy Griffith Show, I Love Lucy and Leave it to Beaver. The visits of the Midland Hospice Care nurses and aides were wonderful therapy for her, as was the companionship of her mother, sister, son, daughter and her loving husband who cared for her. Diana was preceded in death by her brother, Rickey, and father, Karl Johnson. Diana is survived by her mother, Dorothy Tharpe; husband, Michael Martin; siblings, Mike Tharpe, Carla Bell Hollingsworth, Russ Bell; daughter Traci (Daniel); son, Joshua (Jennie); grandchildren, Brayden, Anthony, Molly, Walter, Elsie, Vivian; nieces, nephews, and more loving family. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with funeral service to follow at 12 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Mayo Clinic, Midland Care, or First United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
