Lawrence "Larry" Noller

Lawrence "Larry" H. Noller, age 81, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004. Born in McFarland, KS, he was a life long resident of Topeka, KS. He was the son of George J. and Margaret Wertzberger Noller. His parents and brother George, preceded him in death. Mr. Noller was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #8411. He graduated from Capital Catholic High School in 1941, and attended Kansas State University prior to enlisting in the Air Force. He served as a pilot during World War II. He owned and operated Noller Electric Co. until 1978, and Noller Real Estate until he retired in 1985. He was one of the organizers of Southwest Bank and Trust at 17th and Gage and served as a director from 1962 until 1991. He was instrumental in the development of the Seabrook Center in Topeka, and Pomona Heights Subdivision in Osage County. He had owned pasture land in Chase and Wabaunsee counties. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was married to Charlotte V. Kalina from April 18, 1944 until her death on April 6, 1979. He married Maxine Gossett Emerson on October 4, 1980 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Lawrence, KS. She survives. Other survivors include his children: Kenneth L. Noller M.D. and his wife, Mary, of Shrewsbury, MA and their children, Lisa, Ken, Kit and wife Megan, and Kevin; Thomas J. Noller and his wife, Linda, of Batavia, IL, and their children, Larry and wife, Alison Murphy, Joanne, and Jim; Anne E. Francis Ph.D. and her husband, Jack Fitzpatrick Ph.D. of Topeka, KS, and their daughters Caitlin, Maia, and Sarah; Judith M. Ransom of Ft. Pierce, FL and her children, Charlotte M.D., Bill and his wife, Chris, Katie, and John; Mary Schmidt and her husband Lou, of Owings Mills, MD and their children, Donna Boyd and her husband, Steve, and Debby McRann and her husband, Paul; Lawrence G. Noller and his wife, Janie, of Fayetteville, GA and their son, Matt; Patricia J. Hunninghake and her husband, Lt. Col. Dave Hunninghake of Falls Church, VA and their children Amanda and Pat. His stepchildren are: Steve Emerson and his wife Cindy Kemper, of Leawood, KS and their children, Chris and Lindsay; Dan Emerson and Mary Maytubby of Phoenix, AZ and their daughter Laura Maytubby; Kelley Kreutzer and her husband Bart, Leavenworth, KS and their children, Brit Spangler and her husband, Beau, Max and Haley; Scott Emerson and daughters, Kahley and Rainey, Gilbert, AZ; and 10 great-grandchildren. The grandchildren live in CO, PA, IL, MI, OR, KS, AZ, VA, FL, CT and are students in Germany and Spain. Mr. Noller will lie in state at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd., from 4:30 - 5:30 Friday where a parish rosary will be prayed at 5:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Christ The King Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
