Michele Choucino Line

Michele Choucino Line, 25, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away Wednesday night, March 29, 2006, at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center. Michele was born on March 3, 1981, in Neodesha, Kansas to Clarisa Marple and Eugene Line. Because of her premature birth, she was transferred to a neonatal ICU in Wichita, Kansas. She remained in Wichita until moving to Topeka in the fall of 2002. Michele fought heart ailments all of her life, until she received the beautiful gift of life when she received a heart transplant at Saint Luke’s in Kansas City, Missouri, on January 6, 2004. For the first time since early grade school, she was able to attend classes outside of home tutoring. Michele began attending college at Washburn University where she planned to work towards a degree in psychology that she planned to use working with transplant patients and families. She had great love and respect for the people who took care of her at Saint Luke’s and wanted to pay forward the many good deeds that were done for her. She volunteered at the Catholic Campus Ministry and was just beginning to volunteer for the Kaw Valley Girl Scout Council, translating Spanish to English messages for the council. Michele will not only be a dearly missed sister, but as the most perfect and loving aunt to her niece and nephew, a buddy to her brother-in-law, a patient friend, and an inspiration to others. She was always willing to give all of herself to others in need of love and patience. Michele is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Monica and Mark Young of Topeka, Kansas; a nephew, Nathan Young of Topeka, Kansas; a niece, Alexandra Rose-Young of Topeka, Kansas; her father, Eugene Line of Cherryvale, Kansas; two brothers, Gene and Troy Line of Cherryvale, Kansas; her grandmother, Aurelia Choucino~Miguez of Cerqueda, Spain; three aunts, Elvita Garcia~Choucino, Dolores (Lola) Garcia~Choucino and Raudalina Garcia~Choucino of Spain; one uncle, Jose Garcia~Choucino of Spain. A Rosary will be said for Michele at 9:30 a.m., Monday, April 3, 2006, at Assumption Catholic Church with the funeral Mass following. Father John Rossiter will celebrate the Mass. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to a funeral fund for Michele sent in care of the Kevin Brennan Family funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd, Topeka, KS 66614.
