Roylene Smith Fischer, 90, Topeka, Kansas, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026. Born on March 18, 1936, in Overland Park, Kansas, Roylene lived a full and vibrant life centered around family, friendship, and the people she loved. She was known for her outgoing personality, generous spirit, and genuine interest in others. She never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Her many friendships were a testament to the kindness and warmth she shared so freely. Roylene enjoyed a successful career in both the insurance and real estate industries. Real estate became her favorite profession, and she continued working as a Realtor until the remarkable age of 85. She took great pride in helping others find homes and build their futures. A passionate bridge player, Roylene was a longtime member of the Duplicate Bridge Group at the Women’s Club, where she formed lasting friendships and enjoyed countless hours around the card table. She was also an enthusiastic sports fan and a devoted supporter of the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs, and Kansas Jayhawks. Win or lose, she never gave up on her teams and treasured attending games with her children over the years. Above all else, Roylene’s greatest joy was her family. She delighted in watching her children grow and thrive, cheering them on at sporting events, dance recitals, horseback riding competitions, and theatrical productions. Their accomplishments brought her immense pride, and she remained their biggest supporter throughout her life. Roylene is survived by her children, Catherine “Cathy” Woolaway (Rob), Mark Fischer (Teddie), Louanne Pease (Todd), and John Fischer (Julie); her grandchildren, Alexis Woolaway (Amy), Christopher Woolaway (Jaimie), Heather Beam (Wes), Matt Fischer (Shayla), Kylie Holtrop (TJ), Lucas Pease (Lauren), Kallie Smit (Derrick), Katie Fischer, and Korrine Fischer; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Blaire and Brinley Fischer, Kinsley, Hayden, and Parker Holtrop, Jett Pease, and Hendrik and Micah Smit. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Charlene Smith of Overland Park, Kansas, and her sister, Bonnie Phillips. A Celebration of Life honoring Roylene will be held at The Homestead of Auburn at a date and time to be determined.
