Terry Durow

Terry Lee Durow, 74, Topeka, Kansas, passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. Terry was born in Topeka, on October 19, 1947, the son of Lloyd and Germaine Dohrman Durow. He graduated from Hayden High School in 1965 and served in the United States Army. He retired from Benchmark Motors as a Service Manager in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Following retirement, he started NeedAMow Lawn Care in Topeka. Terry enjoyed 32 loving years with his best friend and wife, Lois Stadler-Durow. They wintered the last 13 years in the Florida Keys and most recently traded in their flip flops for cowboy boots in South Texas where they spent their time developing friendships with other snowbirds, fishing and finding the very best happy hour. Terry and Lois also enjoyed attending Nascar races at over a dozen tracks. When his children were young, Terry coached them in basketball, never missed any of their events, was active in his Church, and loved the OU Sooners. He enjoyed lake life, bonfires and country music with his family and friends. He was a member of Sacred Heart-St. Joseph Parish in Topeka. Terry was the kindest, most selfless man, would do anything for anyone and will be greatly missed. Terry is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Brian Durow of St. Louis, Missouri, Andrea Durow (Patrick Linville) of Oklahoma, City, Oklahoma, Heather Durow (Ryan Bowers) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Natalie Monnett (Joseph) of Overland Park, Kansas, Paul Garrett (Tiffany) of Kansas City, Missouri, Wendy Money (Phillip) of Auburn, Kansas, and Marlo Tangney of Topeka; grandchildren, Dylan, Bayleigh, Alexandra, Mackenzie, Chase, Riley, Corbin, Dayton, Carsyn and Conley; seven great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; brother, Richard Durow (Bobbie); and a niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Germaine and Lloyd Durow. Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 312 NE Freeman Avenue, Topeka KS 66616, where family will greet friends until 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2022, at the Church.
