Tracy Pelton

Tracy W. Pelton, 59, of Tecumseh, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at home with family by his side. He was born on December 8, 1965, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Harvey L. and Martha M. Pelton (Fritsch). Tracy graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1984. He was employed by Dillon Stores for 38+ years before his retirement in 2025 due to his health. Tracy enjoyed working on cars, house projects and spending time at his Lakehouse on Lake of the Ozarks. He loved playing games with family and friends, especially Aggravation. Tracy was a member of the Topeka Camping Club and enjoyed their monthly campouts. Tracy married Russell L. Fritz on March 12, 2022. He survives. Other survivors include his mother, Martha Pelton; sisters, Patsie (Bryan) Robinett and Pam (Marty) Moyer; and a brother, Kevin (Kristi) Pelton. Ten nieces and nephews, Cassie (Kiel), Jason (Olivia), Tony, Josh, Steven, Michael, Ben (Kate), Zach (Karina), Nicole (James), and Andrew (Kelsey); six great-nieces, Elise, Ana, Lily, Avery, Elaina and Finley; and one great-nephew, Leon. Tracy is also survived by his two best friends since 8th grade, Terry (Kristen) Christensen and Kerry (Kim) Hauser, four bonus nieces and nephews, Ashley (James), Jessica (Xavier), Jaimee (Jason), and Andrew; and two bonus great-nieces, Madison and Amelia; and 1 bonus great-nephew, Wyatt; and his beloved cat Luna. Tracy was preceded in death by his father, Leon on February 21, 2017, and brother, Timothy Wayne Pelton on November 20, 1963. Special thanks to Dr. Weckbaugh and his staff at Cotton O’Neil Cancer Center & Dr. Ficek and her staff at Cotton O’Neil Palliative Medicine for their wonderful care during the last few years as Tracy battled with liver cancer. The family will greet friends from 9 to 10 a.m. with the Celebration of Life beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614. Guests are encouraged to dress casually. Inurnment will follow at the Valencia Cemetery.
