Victoria Ann (Gable) Desch

Victoria Ann (Gable) Desch, an Angel on Earth, went to Eternal Life on October 29, 2012 under the care of Grace Hospice at Clare Bridge in Topeka, KS. Victoria was born February 17, 1942 in Plainesville, Ohio to Frank and Margaret Gable. She lived in Ohio and California before her family settled in Kansas. She was preceeded in death by her parents and sister, Joan Gable. Victoria graduated from Hayden High School and went on to work at Mennigers where she became a supervisor for the Children’s Unit and worked for 20 years. In 1966 she married her High School sweatheart, Jerry Desch, he survives. Together they had 3 children, all survive, Doug (Jane) Desch, Topeka, Tiffanie (Kevin) Krentz, Topeka, and Kim (Cameron) Reimer, Manhattan, KS. In addition, she is blessed to have 8 beautiful grandchildren, Nicolas, Courtney, Lauren and Broderick Desch, Mallorie and Riley Reimer, and JJ and Jude Krentz. Victoria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who opened her heart and home to all she met. There wasn’t a person who entered her home that did not feel welcomed or loved. Victoria gave unconditionally and over the years she spent many hours volunteering for her children’s activities, as well as within the community. Victoria’s smile and light touched every soul she ever met. Victoria loved entertaining and was known for her many elegant homemade candies and treats she baked and shared with so many. Victoria also loved spending time at their lake home at Monkey Island in OK. We would like to thank her Hospice nurse, Jana Roe and all of the staff at Clair Bridge for the amazing support and care Victoria received. Mom believed in Angels and we know now she is one watching over all of us. Victoria will lie in state from 2-8pm on Thursday, November 1, 2012, the family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary being held at 7pm at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd., Topeka, KS 66614. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 2, 1012 at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be made in her grandson JJ’s honor to the Dravet Syndrome Foundation, 11 Nancy Drive Monroe, CT 06469 or the Easter Seals Capper Foundation in Topeka.
